Nokia E52 Updated To v31.012

Nokia sure seems to like doling out firmware updates in batches, following in the heels of the X6, the Nokia E52 also has received a new firmware in the form of v31.012. The update is currently only available via the Nokia Software Updater and is a release with a focus on bug fixes and performance enhancements.
Apart from this there are small updates to the Web, Email, Music Store and Maps applications. The E52 features user data preservation so you can update without having to loose data or settings.

Nokia X6 v12.0.091 Firmware Now Available OTA

The Nokia X6, the first Nokia Xseries device has received a seemingly minor update in the form of the v12.0.091 firmware, up from the older v12.0.088. The firmware is available via the Nokia Software Updater as well as over-the-air, you can hit *#0000# on your X6’s keypad and then search for updates to get this release.

The N97 Mini Gets Updated To 11.0.045

Following in the footsteps of its elder sibling, the N97, the N97 Mini has also received a firmware update. The new v11 firmware brings changes similar to the original N97’s v21 firmware that include better call reliability, a better touch scrolling experience, improvements to the web browser and music player and improved image and video stability.

The Nokia N97 Gets Updated To v21

The N97 has just received some love from Nokia in the form of the v 21.0.045 (v 21.2.045 for some) firmware update, labeled at PR 2.1. This update builds on the improvements brought by the previous v20 (PR 2.0) update and will improve call reliability and provide a better touch scrolling experience. The web browser and music player also get improvements; the new firmware also promises improved image and video stability.

The Nokia Software Updater Now Supports Windows 7

In what should come as great news for all those of you running Windows 7 on your PC’s, Nokia Beta Labs has just rolled out a new beta of the Nokia Software Updater that supports Windows 7. This means that you will no longer have to resort to running the NSU in the compatibility mode on your Windows 7 machine.

New Nokia 5800 Firmware v40.0.005 Now Available – Adds Kinetic Scrolling & A Reworked Homescreen

Nokia has just started rolling out the v40 firmware for the Nokia 5800 via the Nokia Software Updater. The chief changes are the implementation of partial kinetic scrolling to the device and a reworked homescreen to match the new 5530. Other changes include auto-switching to the on screen QWERTY keyboard when you turn the device and a few optimizations to the tap/double-tap selection process and the addition of Ovi Contacts.

The Nokia N82, N95 & N95 8GB All Updated To The v35 Firmware

In a surprise but very welcome development, the N82 and both variants of the N95 have received a firmware update, taking them to v35. Specifically, the N95 (RM-159) is upto 35.0.02 & the N95 8GB (RM-320) is at 35.0.01 and the latest firmware for the N82 is now v35.0.002.

New Nokia E75 Firmware v201.12.01 Now Available

Hot on the heels of updates for the E63, E71 and the E66 comes the v201 update for the E75. The update is a 153 MB download via the Nokia Software Updater and currently isn’t available over the air. The new firmware is a major update and brings a host of improvements and bug fixes such as an update to the Nokia Messaging application and the web browser.

Answers From The N97 v2.0 Q&A

We have just wrapped up the Q&A about the N97’s new 2.0 firmware. We had limited time, so I could unfortunately not get through all the questions that you had asked. With that said, here are the key aspects I’m sure you would like to read about.

Have Questions About The N97’s v20 Firmware? Put Them Down Here!

At 17:30 GMT today I and a few other invitees will be attending a Q&A around the N97’s v20 firmware. We will be joined by Nokia representatives Frank Zillikens, the Lead Firmware Developer and Catalin Gheorghiu, a member of the technical team responsible for the recent firmware upgrade.

I’m sure you have questions, so please put them down below and I will try and get an answer for you. Although I doubt questions like, ‘When will v20 be out for my region?’ will get a specific answer. Time is running out.
