The update btick-ed my n82 too but I followed some instructions to recover it that popped out in the software updater ant it worked: remove the battery and charger, reconnect battery and charger, press power button for a few seconds and press recovery on the software updater. Now I have v30 and it's working fine (a bit faster too)

Its a slang for 'break'. Since in this case if the phone got wreaked due to firmware error, the phone now seem like a useless 'brick'

Ashu, generally changing the product code and updating is not a problem at all. I've changed mine and updated for ages now. However, this N82 firmware seems to be bricking a few phones, so I'd advise waiting a little.

Vaibhav.
My product code is 0554---.
I did not get the concept of changing the product code and updating.
You think it will not create problems for the phone to function properly?
Can we do this and still use our phones just the way we are using it right now?
