I could tell you were biased toward the N95 8gb from the beginning. Unlike most, I don’t let the Xenon flash preclude all other considerations. I only need so much ROM on my phone; I already have a laptop, so the memory is a wash. I have an N80 and need a new flex cable. This issue *only* happens with a slider. WIN FOR N82. Whereas I appreciate understates, flies-under-the-radar products like Audis and the N82, a high-end phone should have either a QWERTY or a large screen. Surfing the net is important for me & a postage stamp just won’t do. WIN FOR N95. I use my phone for photos and video quite often. Granted, the only real difference is in low-lit shots, but if I pay this much, I’d like good quality shots nonetheless. WIN FOR N82. The purpose of a smartphone is multi-tasking and ease of use. I use my phone for music when I work out in my garage gym. N95’s dedicated keys and better sound give another WIN FOR N95. So, it’s a tie for me & I hate that cuz I’m so ready to upgrade from my N80. Chances are I’ll use the Internet more often than take nighttime photos… but if another flex cable issue arrives, I’ll be pissed. With a memory card option, the N82 is definitely “future proof”. I just feel I deserve a decent sized screen or a QWERTY. Help

Excellent comparison!!!
The N82 Black is far more better in looks than the N95 8gb.
N82’s expandable memory up to 16gb is the biggest edge over N95 8gb.
Guys… The N82 is definitely a ‘Future-proof’ Smart phone.

I feel great using the N82 Black.

Ultimately, even i feel it comes down to the personal choice. I got n 82 because of removable memory option, camera, and form factor. I have used lot of sliders and have always been uncomfortable typing with the top row.
One thing i can assure is, you will not regret buying n 82 at all!

probably I’m quite regret getting n82 instead 8gb.., but for price reason, n82 is a good jumping stone to wait and get the n96.

I highly agree with you. The Nokia N95 8GB is the best on the market today and for the next year probably. The N96 will have no big difference with it, so I am glad I bought the N95 8GB recently…

Good point and thanks for making it. With that in mind the N82 does get a definitive edge no doubt. However this post was written for someone who just wanted the best Nseries for him regardless the price.

Great review and I would agree with all the conclusions. I don’t have a problem with the 8Gb lens. It seems to be the same as my old N80 which was in my pocket mostly for 18 months with no scratches. I’m trying my best to get hold of an N82 to try. Had a play in the Nokia Store but need a few days to see if I can live with the smaller screen.

Ish, oh yeah! That N96 xenon rumour, it’ll be interesting to see how it pans out. I am not getting my hopes up!

SiDG, Thanks. Well the N82 is almost future proof for the next one odd year. The N96 is coming which isn’t way ahead of the N82 so you can feel safe in your purchase. Nokia’s touch Xpress music device is coming though!

I prefer the N82 blk and am waiting for it. Just hope Nokia doesn’t launch a better fone after I buy the n82. On another note the n82 looks quite slim as compared to n95-8GB which seems a lot thicker in comparison. Nice pics.

Firstly great job with the posting,very comprehensive…ur right,these 2 phones are very close competition to each other therefore it boils down to personal preference…Iv used the N95 8GB for about 4 months now and i must say that it is a delight…the big screen,sexy black,etc…but i have experienced a few glitches which i think are worth a mention….
-The onboard 8GB is painfully slow and takes an eternity to fill up via “USB 2.0″,MicroSD would have rocked…
-The slider gets a little wobbly with time…
-The materials used on the front panel are not of the quality id have liked,not top end quality…
But id still pick the N95 8GB eyes closed…;)

I think that N82 would give stiff competition to the N96 too but that is if it is still released without the xenon.
