The N81 is the best when it comes to headphones, followed by the N82 and N95 respectively.

Loudspeaker wise N95 8GB wins hands down and its close between the N82 & N81.

Can you pls. tell me if the n82 is higher in volume when playing music thorugh headphones. Also if possible can you compare the n81, n82 & n95 in the Sound Quality through headphones. Thnx.

Thanks for the reply but I already know how to control the brightness. I was talking about the maximum brightness being capped by the software as compared to the n95/n81. I understand that this may help in increasing battery times but still I hope Nokia will address this in future FW upgrades.

Waiting for the article.

You can still control the brightness from the Tools>Settings>Personalisation options. Plus Nokia's implementations works way better than any 3rd party application anyday, I'm sure you will agree.

There is absolutely no problem in the keys or the Dpad's operation, in fact I quite like it. The Softkeys could have been better but usability is not impacted.

To upgrade or not is subjective depending on how old is the N95 i.e. if you are bored and have to get a new phone or the battery makes you want to get one then the N82 is a good option, specially if you are not into video playback much. I'm writing a comparison that'll be online tonight.

Since you have used both N82 and N95, do u feel any problem in the soft keys, d-pad operation in n82 as compared to the n95. Would you suggest a n95 owner to go for n82 or advise to wait for the next flagship ?

Not to be picky about this but I believe that the n81 is equal/better than n82 in some departments. N82 lasts upto 10 hrs. in music playback while n81 lasts 30 mins. longer. In video Playback n82 lasts 200 mins. while n81 lasts 240 mins. Both the phones last 2 days in regular use. Source :- mobile-review.

Also the screen the n82 is software controlled to enhance the standby times. It is not a major problem for me but I will still want to have the option to control the brightness myself rather than Nokia do it for me. Auto Rotation is coming to N95-8GB also and there's rotateme also for that.

Other than that a good review.

After having used both I am led to the conclusion that the N82 has better battery life than than the N81 whatever be the reason. I say screen because of the rotation, watching videos you just took with the auto orientation is neat. As far as brightness goes I'm usually happy with the default setting or a step lower, anything more and it will impact standby time! Moreover the N82 has GPS too. There are no two ways about the N82 being a better phone.

@ Siraj yes, the loudspeaker volume could have been better, but still you won't miss a call because of the volume! ;)

Quote :
"The N81 is, but when it boils down to a comparison between the two the N82 wins easily owing to the Camera, even better battery, screen and build quality."

The N82 and N81 use the same battery and screen tho the N82 screen is less bright.

Kirollous, no I was reffering to the N95 8GB itself, like a comparison.

Malerocks, Thanks pal. The N82 made me mention it, the difference was huge between it and the others.
