I’ve rarely come across a good non Nokia S60 device but the Samsung G810 sure does seem to be one. For starters it is a great looking phone and when I say that I mean it. Pictures below, for more look at this AAS Gallery. Now not only is it beautiful as far a looks are concerned but it should have decent build quality too because of Samsung’s extensive experience with sliders.

The G810 is a quad-band 3G enabled handset with support for 3.6 Mbps HSDPA and runs on v9.2 S60 3rd edition OS. It packs a 2.6″ TFT QVGA display and features a 3.5mm jack and support for TV out. Connectivity is ensured by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0. The specifications that they have crammed into this reasonably sized (Weight 4.7 oz. : Dimensions (H x W x D) 4.1×2×0.7 in.) slider, is no mean feat. It features a 5 meapixel camera with 3x Optical Zoom and Xenon flash, yes optical and yes xenon!; something which Nokia hasn’t been able to/hasn’t done in a slider yet. The camera also has face detection, something only dedicated digital cameras have so far. It also supports GPS and but naturally Geo-Tagging. I am excited at what this phone has to offer and am looking for to see if I can get my hands on one.

Meanwhile the G810 will start shipping in a month’s time and if you are in the market for a high end S60 device, you might want to look it up. More pictures after the break.
