@Sandy... I read through your comment on N96 and couldn’t resist myself as even I am using a n96 and got it very recently in fact :)

On point 1 frankly.. I have been using the phone for abt 20 odd days... Until now I haven’t faced any issues with the battery back up.. In fact I think it’s quite decent.
I m an extensive user... At least over 15 calls a day... 20 odd smses and I also snack on videos and photos.. Plus use it for music during my drive to work. With an overnight charge.. I am able to run with it for almost 1.5 days or more in certain cases.. So I think its ok. On point 2, not clear if this is something ur facing everytime u switch the phone back?

Your point no 4.. Rebooting itself.. This has happened twice since I bought the phone... Esp when I am using too many apps. I guess as Vaibhav said with the new v12 firmware this shud get better.

On rest of the issues... With content getting deleted, not able to make entries etc.. Not sure if u have got the phone checked.. It could be a problem with this particular model?? :(

Sandy, I agree the current firmware is buggy. That's why I've decided not to write a review for it till it is sorted out. The up coming v12 firmware holds much promise.

5. Did you refresh the library?

9. Its for the light around the D Navi Wheel.

Don't go for it guys coz see what I am facing:
1. Poor battery backup
2. Long Startup Time
3. It hangs very often.
4. It reboots itself very often.
5. The newly added mp3 files are not getting added to the music library.
6. Very often its music keypad stops working and you have to restart the phone to get things back in normal condition.
7. Often its display light gets switched off while using applications like camera or games for little time and then the phone hangs and the only possible option to get things back to normal is take the battery out and then reinsert it as even it become unable to switch it off.
8. Once the phone gets switched off and you switch it on again to find all your log enteries got deleted automatically, no matter that you have not taken out your battery or changed your sim card or not.
9. I have tried my level best but could not understand what is the meaning and use of the built in feature Navi Wheel Breathing.
10. I am unable to get any voice support in Maps and even the application fails to work without gprs however it is expected to work atleast in the open space and now the latest the application stopped to lauch itself even after several aatempts of factory restorations and application re-installations.

Meraj, Actually even I think it will do well. It has cutting edge specs which attract most consumers, it is only some of us who expected 'more' and were somewhat dissappointed.
And MWC was a Blast!

Interesting opinions Vaibhav, and I hope you had fun at MWC.

I believe the worst parts of the phone are indeed the lack of Xenon flash and 3D accelerator.

I'm expecting for the device to actually be a success, as the specifications are enough for most users. I set up a blog not long ago, and hopefuly will turn the ones who don't appreciate the N96, into people who are happy with it, <a href="http://nokian96.net" title="Nokia N96 Blog" rel="nofollow">

Bery, I asked the product manager as to what audio quality can we expect from the phone, the N91 level? He said may be even better!! So thats how. :)

Ali, as far as being cramped is concerned, the bigger size of the N96 v/s the N81 does help sort that issue out.

I really like my N95 8GB,it looks nice and comes with all the features that the N96 has to offer....of course the N96 has an upper hand here with its 16 gig+micro SD slot,DVB-H tuner, alleged sound quality improvements...here's why i think the N95 8GB users would not wanna upgrade:(opinions may differ of course)
1. N95 8GB has a more tactile keypad,grip....i dint find the N81 very comfortable...
2. N95 8GB has a matte finish opposed to the glossy finish of the N96 which can collect a lotta fingerprints...
3. The menu key and its colleagues looked kinda crammed in there...
4. The N96 has no 3D acceleration(not an issue as of yet)...

I would also be tempted to get an N95 8GB but the N73/N70 won't even come close to the N96's quality. It will be a huge difference. I think I will only be able to make up mind once I actually get my hands on the device once more and this time for much longer!

The coming months would be the best time to buy N95/N95 8GB/N82 as N96 will bring down their prices. I'm going to buy N95 8GB next month. For music, instead of an expensive N96, an N73/N70 ME would do!

There is one thing, for N95 users the N96 will come out after about 15 months after the N95 launch and most people will frankly we bored with their existing handsets by then! I am!

Personally I think this will tempt new users rather than existing owners of the N95 or the N82. Personally I can't see why anyone who owns an N95 / 8GB or N82 would even consider this model.
Seems like to me as usual, Nokia are filling the gaps with models again. Shame as I expected something more from them.

Dave, The GPS antena on the N96 is better located than the N95 and AFAIK opening the slide isn't required anymore.
